International Women’s Day: Building Something Complicated
Share
International Women's Day isn't just a date on the calendar.
It's the reason Complicated Co. exists.
We're here for ambition without apology. For building something bold. For the overstimulated. The complicated. The women who are doing too much and still showing up. The women who are figuring it out in real time and refusing to pretend otherwise.
Why We Built Complicated Co.
Complicated Co. was founded by Jodie Horgan, business coach, mentor, and the person who decided that the gap between how women feel and what they're allowed to say needed to be filled with something wearable.
Not a feminist t-shirt that shouts. A statement tee that whispers. Something that says: yes, I carry a lot. Yes, it's complicated. Yes, I'm still here.
Because that's what International Women's Day is really about. Not the highlight reel. The full picture.
What Ethical Fashion Has to Do With It
Building an ethical clothing brand in the UK is, in itself, a feminist act.
It means choosing not to participate in a supply chain that exploits predominantly female garment workers. It means paying fair prices for fair work. It means creating something that lasts, rather than something designed to be discarded.
Sustainable fashion and feminism are not separate conversations. They're the same conversation.
When you buy from Complicated Co., you're supporting a small, independent, female-founded brand that gives a damn about how its clothes are made. That matters on International Women's Day. And every other day.
Building Something That Lasts
The most complicated thing about building a business as a woman is the expectation that you'll do it quietly, apologetically, and without taking up too much space.
We're not interested in that.
We're building something complicated. Something honest. Something that reflects the real experience of being a woman in 2026 — the ambition, the exhaustion, the joy, the mess.
And we're doing it in organic cotton.
Happy International Women's Day.
