Why the Royal Mail Delivery Changes Won't Stop Your Favourite T-Shirts
Royal Mail is changing how it delivers post across the UK. If you've seen the headlines and wondered whether your Complicated Co. order will be slower, here's the short answer: no. The changes are to letters, not parcels, and everything we send is a parcel.
What are the Royal Mail changes?
Following a consultation with Ofcom, Royal Mail is restructuring its Universal Service Obligation. The most notable change is to 2nd Class letters, which are now delivered every other weekday rather than daily. The phased rollout continues across the country until December 2026.
The detail many headlines missed: parcels are unaffected.
What it means for your order
Every Complicated Co. tee, cap and bottle ships as a tracked parcel, so deliveries continue to arrive up to seven days a week. We dispatch within 3 working days. UK delivery is free on orders over £20, £3.50 under. We'll keep an eye on the rollout across delivery offices, but nothing about our shipping changes.
Christmas orders
Order by 18 December for UK delivery in time for Christmas. The Christmas Edit — the Bah and Sleigh tees and the Offline Cap — is in stock now and dispatched within 3 working days. If a size shows as back order it ships with the next batch and we'll email you the date before it's posted.
Slow mail meets slow fashion
There's a parallel here. The Royal Mail changes are about building a service that's sustainable for the long term — something we're familiar with. Complicated Co. has always been slow fashion: organic cotton, made in small runs, designed to be worn for years rather than replaced after a season. In a world obsessed with instant everything, a slightly slower post isn't the worst reminder that the things worth having are worth waiting for.
